yellow & white stripes

I am pining for some yellow and white striped curtains right now, but I'm having trouble finding any! I thought it would be a classic, well-stocked design, but Pottery Barn seems to have the only candidates.

I like them both, but the image in my head is of valance-style curtains with wide, nautical stripes. There's something fresher and less overtly sailor-like about using yellow instead of navy blue. :) I wish I was crafty enough to sew my own! I wonder if etsy has anyone that makes custom curtains...

C's brother got married in Nebraska this past weekend. :) The wedding was a low-key, lovely gathering. Besides the nuptials, I also got a chance to hike around and browse the fantastic antique stores. I was a happy camper!

tie it up

People should wear ties more.

Bowties, regular ties, skinny ties...doesn't matter. I approve. I especially love breezy ties with that lazy, hazy, crazy summer feeling. Example: the bowtie to the right's name is "nap on the porch". Would you like some lemonade and balmy evening with that tie, sir?

I ordered the hand-made tie below on etsy (a cup of jo tipped me off). Here are similar styles. I normally dislike flower ties, but I make exceptions when the fabric is from Liberty! My husband and I both take turns wearing it.

by the sea

I love three day weekends. :) Tidepooling, a day at the park, and yummy Mexican food all make me a happy person.

change is in the air

Had a weekend - recorded some backup vocals for my brother's band, went to dinner at C's parents' house, and I played around with my new Lomo camera.
